QUEST
Strategy & Brewmaster
Marquest "Quest" Meeks has been a Japanese tea connoisseur for more than a decade and a half. His love and deep respect for Japanese culture are rooted in the years his family spent living outside of Tokyo when his dad was in the Air Force. That foundation piqued his initial interest in Japanese tea, which blossomed when he started law school and realized green tea was a great source for his energy and focus needs. After almost two decades practicing law, green tea is still Quest’s go-to energy source.
At FKTea, Quest leads the company’s strategy and recipe development by marrying his tea knowledge with significant legal experience, solving a wide range of business problems. He lives in New Orleans with his partner, Mega, and their 2 year-old daughter (aka Boss), Magnolia. When Quest isn’t spending time with Mega and Maggie or testing new recipes for FKTea, he is typically training for his next ultramarathon, mountain summit, Kendo tournament, or (re)learning Japanese.
Kevin “BK”
Growth & Customer Experience
Born in Japan and raised in Texas and Colorado, Kevin’s energy habits have evolved alongside his adventurous life. From drinking Monsters and Rip-It energy drinks overseas to enjoying third-wave coffees and green teas at home, his journey to cleaner, healthier energy and a shared obsession with being a great father to their children led Kevin and his cofounders to create FKTea.
As FKTea’s growth and customer experience leader, Kevin Shears draws on nearly two decades of military, entrepreneurial, and e-commerce experience. A co-founder of a veteran-owned skateboard and apparel company, he combines his expertise in DTC sales with the problem-solving and leadership skills honed during his Air Force Special Warfare career. Charismatic and driven, Kevin excels at building customer loyalty, identifying growth opportunities, and creating community-driven experiences.
Kevin lives in Oklahoma with his wife of 16 years, Gabby, and their two adventurous sons: Bear, 13, and Tub, 11. He can be found training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Tub, running with Bear, occasionally training for an ultramarathon with his co-founders, or teaching off-road rally driving to military members in Austin, Texas.
Wayne
Creative & Branding
With a background in design and creative direction, Wayne brings a unique blend of innovation and storytelling to their work. As the founder of Likesushi Streetwear and former Creative Director of French Truck Coffee, Wayne has honed a strong sense of visual identity and purpose-driven design.
An ultra runner, Wayne draws on the discipline and resilience developed through the sport to guide his approach to entrepreneurship and design, continually pushing the boundaries of creativity.
Trey
Sales & Finance
Trey is a father, a husband, and the operator of his family’s multigenerational business. With nearly two decades driving the family's hospitality and real estate group in the heart of New Orleans he has developed a knack for creating new revenue streams, building out businesses from the ground up, and bringing people together for unique opportunities.
As a new father he is excited to be cofounding a business with three dads, that also prioritize setting audacious personal goals from summiting mountains, or running ultra marathons.
Taking point for FKTEA's Sales and Finance side he is excited to bring his deep background in entrepreneurship, and hospitality to bear on the only health positive energy drink available.
